On April 22, the Georgia Debate Union hosted its second annual Richard B. Russell Scholars debate featuring the four recipients of the debate team's most prestigeous debate scholarship.
This year's debate focused on whether the president's war powers authority to use targeted killing against terrorists should be restricted.
The affirmative team was represented by Robert Galerstein, sophomore from Dunwoody HS, GA, and Maggie Davis, junior from Chattahoochee HS.
The negative team was represented by senior and team president, Shyam Shanker of Wheeler HS, and Tucker Boyce, freshman from Alpharetta HS.

It was a fantastic public debate and a great way to culminate this year's intercollegiate debate season. We are proud of the participants, the team, and our alumni support and we look forward to hosting another Russell scholars debate next spring!
